Ft Myers Wind Storm Damages a Roof and Kitchen
A severe tropical windstorm quickly passed through this Ft. Myers neighborhood and a Live Oak tree limb penetrated and significantly damaged the roof of this home. The debris that fell through the broken ceiling, after damaging the rafters, created an unsanitary mess. The blown insulation was heavily contaminated with rodent droppings requiring biohazardous removal protocols. Our SERVPRO technicians, covered the roof with tarps to prevent on-going negative effects to the attic. Then they sealed the kitchen to prevent cross-contamination and cleaned up, placed in plastic bags, and removed the gross debris. We vacuumed, using HEPA filtered equipment, to finish up the initial cleanup efforts along with setting up air scrubbers to help capture any airborne pathogens, dust, and dirt.
